HTC is leaving no stone upturned to gain a good position in the smartphone world. The sad news HTC has reported the lowest sales since past three years. Not only this, HTC has witnessed worst fall in its revenue since the last 4 months. For the month of February, HTC suffered the sales of the HTC devices went down by 44 percent.
HTC Sales Goes Down
The comparison of HTC’s January 2013’s revenue with February 2013’s revenue shows there was a fall of about 27 percent. The HTC One which already released in the month of February had received rave reviews from the critics. In fact, it won the best device award at Mobile World Congress 2013. Many experts wonder whether HTC’s new offering will do any good in resurrecting the brand against the likes of Samsung and Apple which is ruling the smartphone world.
HTC’s effort in release Droid DNA and HTC Butterfly which are 1080p smartphone have not been of any good in picking up the sales. Previously, HTC had claimed the dip in sales was mainly because the firm did not advertise their products properly. So this time around HTC paid special attention in making the HTC One be unveiled at big event like MWC. We need to wait and watch to see whether this strategy from HTC will work in their favor or not.
HTC’s Novel Market Approach May Be Going Against It
HTC’s approach towards the smartphone market has been slightly different. Samsung has proved itself to be leader and quite a trendsetter. Nokia is known for offering wide range of phones in low-budget as well as top-of-the-line smartphones. Instead of investing in services, HTC has been paying lot of attention towards partnering with companies like AOL and Beats Electronics. HTC has mainly focused on producing smartphones. In other words, HTC does not have anything for in the low-budget range.
